Quarks and Leptons: An Introductory Course in Modern Particle Physics
The course
assumes no prior knowledge of nuclear or particle physics. It
is
designed to be accessible
to students with one
semester of graduate quantum mechanics.
We will closely
follow the excellent book by Halzen and
Martin. The emphasis is on an intuitive
approach to Feynman
diagrams and elementary processes.
- Symmetries
and
Quarks.
- Antiparticles.
- Electrodynamics
of Spinless Particles.
- The Dirac
Equation.
- Electrodynamics
of Spin-1/2 Paritcles.
- The
Structure of Hadrons
- Partons.
- Weak
Interactions.
